Is this watercolour? Top left: I love the pathway w/ the trees on either side. The transition of greens to browns is very nicely done in the trees. It really balances the quadrant. I did not notice right away until I zoomed in on the piece -- the bench, it adds to the inviting feel of the pathway. Top right: THE WILLOW TREE IS SO PRETTY! My favourite quadrant. The brush strokes combined with the lovely greens really makes the willow tree stand out to me. Bottom left: I really like the shape of the tree. It leans out trying gain my attention -- and it successfully does! The way you faded the grasss out to the bottom of the page is done well and adds a neat texture. Bottom right: I love how the tree dramatically bows to the middle of the quadrant. It's like it is welcoming back an old friend.
Altogether, a WONDERFUL piece. I really enjoyed looking at this! The colours and overall composition unifies this painting. The pure suggestion of this piece allows our minds to fill in any blanks -- and every brush stroke has definition and purpose. Your skill and control of the medium is phenominal -- I am very envious of it and I, unfortuneately, didn't have enough patience with it in my art class. Do you have any tips in using this medium?
This is lovely and I really enjoyed critiquing your piece -- even if it is in the form of a comment.
